Explosive Allegation Surfaces in New Diddy Docuseries Sean Combs: Ex-Associate Claims Mogul ‘Slapped’ His Mother

The newly released Netflix docuseries, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, executive produced by rap mogul Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, has ignited a fresh wave of controversy surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs, revealing an explosive new allegation concerning his early career and personal life.

The four-part series features testimony from former Bad Boy Records co-founder, Kirk Burrowes, who recounts a deeply disturbing incident involving Combs and his mother, Janice Combs, in the early 1990s.

The 1991 Incident

According to Burrowes’ account in the documentary, the alleged confrontation took place shortly after the tragic 1991 City College of New York crowd crush, where nine people were killed at a celebrity basketball game promoted by Combs.

Burrowes claims that during a discussion in a Manhattan hotel following the stampede, Janice Combs questioned her son’s decision to leave school to pursue a career in the music industry. Burrowes alleges that Combs reacted with aggression and violence.

“I saw him put his hands on her, call her a b–ch and slapped her,” Burrowes states in the series, adding that Combs was defensive and “not looking back” on his career path. The series presents this account as an eyewitness recollection of the volatile side of the music mogul in the nascent stages of his career.

Combs’ Team Decries Series as a ‘Shameful Hit Piece’

The allegation, which has not been independently verified, adds to the extensive list of serious legal and personal accusations detailed in the documentary, which chronicles Combs’ rise and subsequent legal challenges.

In response to the series, Sean Combs’ legal and public relations team has sharply criticized the Netflix project. In a statement, a spokesperson for Combs dismissed Sean Combs: The Reckoning as a “shameful hit piece.”

The statement alleges that the documentary is built around a “one-sided narrative” led by a “publicly admitted adversary,” a clear reference to executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who has long had a public rivalry with Combs. Combs’ representatives have also accused the filmmakers of relying on “stolen footage” and repeating allegations that lack context, evidence, or verification, asserting that the mogul will continue to address legitimate matters through the legal process.

Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which features archival footage and interviews with former associates, is currently streaming on Netflix and is expected to fuel further public debate regarding the accusations against the music executive.
